The U.S. produced another round of strong employment gains in January, adding 257,000 jobs, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. One of the best-performing sectors was the construction industry, with more than 39,000 jobs added, nearly 13,000 of which were in nonresidential fields.

The January employment report highlights the expansion the construction industry experienced over the last year, with steady job gains and demand for services. Anirban Basu, chief economist of the Associated Builders and Contractors noted the report "provides additional evidence that the economic momentum generated during the final months of 2014 will persist into 2015," according to ACHRNews.
